Zonar Wins 2021 Business Intelligence Group BIG Innovation Award
Seattle, Wash. – January 15, 2021 – Zonar, the leader in smart fleet technology, today announced that it has been named a winner in the 2021 BIG Innovation Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group. The BIG Innovation Awards recognize those organizations and people who bring new ideas to life.
Zonar has been increasing digitalization over the past 20 years in the vocational, pupil transportation, mass transit and commercial trucking industries, and has been recognized with a 2021 Big Innovation award for its latest round of safety and efficiency solutions.
Zonar’s award-winning solutions include advancements in the transportation industry, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic:
- Sanitization configurations added to Electronic Verified Inspection Reporting (EVIR®): EVIR is Zonar’s patented electronic verified inspection reporting system that ensures each pre- and post-trip inspection are correctly done. In 2020 Zonar added new configurations for verifying and standardizing how to follow COVID-19 sanitization procedures on metro and school buses.
- Student Tracking (Z Pass®): Zonar’s contactless, card-based rider verification solution allows schools to know who rode which bus and when so that, if a rider tests positive for COVID-19, drivers and parents can be notified promptly regarding the potential exposure.
- Zonar OTAir®: OTAir is an innovative technology approach to commercial vehicle engine updates. Manual engine updates drain fleet managers of time and money. With Zonar OTAir, fleets get a convenient way to update Cummins engines over-the-air using a mobile device and allow commercial vehicle drivers to get on the road faster and be more efficient.
“More than ever, the global society relies on innovation to help progress humanity and make our lives more productive, healthy and comfortable,” said Maria Jimenez, chief operating officer of the Business Intelligence Group. “We are thrilled to be honoring Zonar as they are one of the organizations leading this charge and helping humanity progress.”
Organizations from across the globe submitted their recent innovations for consideration in the BIG Innovation Awards. Nominations were then judged by a select group of business leaders and executives who volunteer their time and expertise to score submissions.
“In a watershed year for digital transformation, we’re thrilled to be recognized for our innovative solutions putting data at the fingertips of decision-makers and improving industry safety,” said Michael Gould, chief operating officer at Zonar. “Our focus and commitment will remain on delivering tools, insights and capabilities that enable our customers to increase efficiency and improve the safety of their operations as well as comply with the evolving regulatory landscape.”
